Green Grass Tips

Weed N' Feed

Simplest way to achieve nice looking lawns is to start it off right! Start by spreading a Weed N' Feed to give your lawn the food it needs to start growing after this harsh Winter season. Applying a Weed N Feed  will also provide protection from weeds from starting as well

Want Green'r Grass?

If your grass is nice, but looks a little dull and yellow, you can try adding some Iron to green it up! Scotts Max Green is a very nice product and will get your grass a dark green in just 3 days. Be sure not to use too much, as too much will burn your grass. Start off with just a little, and after a week if you want it greener, add some more. This can be in place of Lime during your 2nd time around with the 3 Step Success below.

3 Step Success

I have noticed when using this 3 Step process, the yard remains green and full all year around as long as you keep the steps going routinely.

  • Week 1- Apply Blue Dawn Soap to your grass once this Week. This will help keep bugs and insects from damaging your lawn, and will help keep crane flies from using your lawn more than you do! Using a dial spreader attachment on your hose, set it to the highest amount/gal and you should be good to go!
  • Week 2- Apply Dolomite Lime (powder form) all over your yard Once this week. This will help raise the pH and lower the acidic level in your grass. (If you need green'r grass, switch from lime to Iron your 2nd time around during 5th week of this process).
  • Week 3- Apply Once this week, an equally measured Fertilizer, a 16-16-16 Mixture in number would be best to keep an even nutrient level.
  • Week 4+- Repeat Steps above

Do these steps all summer long and you should be pleased with a very Green looking Yard. Repeat these steps and you should be able to maintain that beautiful thick green grass. Remember not to spill fertilizer on your grass in one spot, otherwise you will create burn spots that are tough to fix.
